Site's session to expire only when user logs out

I use Cometchat and it's permanently logs out.

Cometchat guys told me that:

"The site's session expires after a certain amount of time.
Since CometChat is ajax-based software you see Cometchat to be logged out in real-time.

Please ask your developers to make the site's session to expire only when user logs out. This will resolve the issue."

Hope this will be fixed.

It is not secured to leave the session live in a long period of time
If the session expired, they should check for the cookie instead
Wait until our chat feature is out and this will be resolved

whould this have global chat for all user + private chat betwen 2 users ? what is great with cometchat you can talk from your chat with facebook and google chat user ...
